The Johor Domestic Trade and Consumerism Ministry has seized 210 boxes of suspected fake infant formula from convenience and drug stores in five locations in Johor Baru.According to multiple media reports such as Channel NewsAsia, The Borneo Post and TODAY, three of the five premises raided were discovered to be selling fake milk worth approximately RM42,000. Director Khairul Anwar Bachok said that complaints have been lodged by producers of original milk formula since August this year, on possible fake products. He added that the fake infant formula boxes were displayed alongside the original ones and sold at the same price for about RM200 each.Khairul said that the invoice for the sale of the infant formula reflected the name of a false company and address, in a bid to confuse the authorities. He added that the raids will be intensified in other districts to detect fake infant formula and identify the source of the fake producers.
