Marco Polo Hotels brings new luxury hotel brand to China

Marco Polo Hotels, Hong Kong-based hotel management company owned by The Wharf Group, has announced the launch of a new luxury brand Niccolo by Marco Polo in China.Located at Chengdu’s International Finance Square (IFS) in the Chunxi Road business district, the first Niccolo by Marco Polo hotel Niccolo Chengdu is set to open on 15 April.“Late last year, Marco Polo Hotels announced expansion plans across the Asia-Pacific,” said Stephen Ng, deputy chairman and managing director of The Wharf (Holdings) Limited.“The launch of Niccolo by Marco Polo in Chengdu is an integral part of this growth strategy and evidence of our belief in the continued potential of business and leisure travel across the region.”Niccolo Chengdu will feature 230 rooms and suites, multi-functional conference and exhibition facilities, swimming pool and restaurants and bars, in order to appeal to luxury and business travellers.The group has also scheduled further openings of three new Niccolo by Marco Polo hotels in second-tier cities Chongqing, Changsha and Suzhou over the next 12 months.
