Live sports, express content to drive now TV in second quarter of 2016

now TV is placing its bets on live sports coverage and fast-tracking US content as it looks ahead to the second half of 2016.With competition among content portals increasing, now TV said offering giving customers access to a range of live sports events and the latest US and Asian dramas series will give it an edge in coming months.The PCCW-owned service is also banking on a new partnership with Netflix to expand its content offering with Netflix dramas like Master of None, Marvel’s Daredevil and Orange is the New Black, on offer for now TV customers in ultra-high definition via OTT apps for smartphones and tablet devices.SEE MORE: Why I still can’t get my TV fix with Netflixnow's sports coverage will again include the Hong Kong Sevens, plus the historic boxing match between Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley. now has also secured the rights to US football league Copa América and will screen all 32 matches live in HD.Loke Kheng Tham (pictured), PCCW’s executive vice president of pay TV, said multi-platform services will also include the now Player OTT app which gives customers the freedom to watch content on the move.
