JCDecaux Singapore names new MD as Ashley Stewart moves on

Out-of-home advertising firm JCDecaux has appointed Evlyn Yang (pictured) as its managing director effective from March 28. Yang replaces Ashley Stewart who is departing to pursue personal interests after 18 years with the company.Yang will report to Emmanual Bastide, Asia CEO of JCDecaux. She has been with JCDecaux Singapore for more than 16 years, driving business growth and building strategic partnerships. She played a key role in the win of the Changi Airport Advertising Concession in 2010.Yang was previously deputy managing director with JCDecaux, before which she was assistant general manager with SMRT Media."It is an awesome opportunity to lead a company that I started my media career in and I am grateful for it. JCDecaux has achieved many great milestones in the past 18 years. Together with the terrific team of people we have, I look forward to steering the company to achieve many more!" Yang said.Stewart played a leading role with the development of JCDecaux Singapore with the introduction of island-wide bus shelter advertising for LTA in 1999, the first billboards on expressways in 2000, and the consolidation of cinema exhibitors to create the island's largest combined cinema advertising network."Evlyn Yang has been working with me for 16 years and knows the business well. The time is now right for me to take a break and pursue other interests," Stewart said.Stewart also leaves his position in Hong Kong and Macau, and will be replaced by Yoann El Jaouhari, who was previously managing director of JCDecaux Dubai and Northern Emirates."After 18 years of hard and excellent work in Singapore, Hong Kong and Macau, I would like to thank Ashley Stewart for his commitment to the Group. We wish him the greatest of happiness in his future projects,” said Emmanuel Bastide, Asia CEO.He continues, “I am also pleased to announce the internal promotion of Evlyn Yang and I wish her great success in her new role in Singapore, a capital city, which is among the most fascinating and dynamic in the world.
