Karl Chong and Chris Chong, co founders of Groupon Singapore have launched GoFresh.com.sg, an e-store which offers free delivery for restaurant quality meats and seafood. Their vision for GoFresh.com.sg is to help Singaporeans save time and money when shopping for ingredients, while helping to grow the SG$5.9 billion online groceries industry in Singapore. In a conversation with Marketing, Chris Chong (pictured) said the company is currently in the midst of looking for a digital ad agency to drive traffic to the site. The company, which started in June this year, also hopes to acquire customers through online ads and SEO/SEM strategies. Google and Facebook ads are also another means for customer acquisition for the company. Currently, all marketing plans revolve around the online sphere.“One of the key moments for GoFresh was to understand how to convert physical shoppers, and we did this by creating an easy and simple customer experience that will save people the hassle of long lines at supermarkets and carrying heavy shopping bags with our free delivery, with recurring weekly deals on premium meats and seafood. We’ve found that online advertising leads to lesser friction for an e-commerce site and makes it easier for customers to click on an ad straight to our website GoFresh.com.sg,” said Chong. He also added that content marketing is another strategy the company is looking into through its weekly newsletter which pushes different promotional items on weekly basis.“We want to encourage more people to cook at home with their family,” said Chong, “with home delivery, why not recreate a restaurant experience for your loved ones in your own home using restaurant quality ingredients?”The duo started Beeconomic which was later bought over by Groupon.
