Funny man Ramon Bautista can be arrested the next time he visits Davao City after the City Council declared him persona non grata on Tuesday. The decision was made three days after Bautista, visiting the Kadapawan Festival as an endorser for AyosDito.com.ph, called Davaoeño girls "hipon," a street slang for sexy women with ugly faces. The city council also slammed an Instagram post showing a picture of the commedian with his arms wrapped around three young women attending the Kadayawan Invasion 2014 party last Saturday with the caption: "Ito ang kabataan ngayon hihi. #Kadayawan #PasisikatinKitaHijaFoundation.""His insinuations that the young women in the picture are lusting for popularity because he is an endorser of ayosdito.ph and Smart shows utter arrogance. Mr. Bautista willfully and arrogantly intended to propagate a culture of sexism and male chauvinism that promotes rude and disrespectful behavior against women," the resolution stated.Bautista apologized to the crowd that same night after he was chided by Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte. However, inspite of another public apology he made on Twitter last Monday, the city county proceeded with the ruling. The city council said that copies of the resolution will be given to ayosdito.ph, Napoleon Nazareno of Smart Communications, and Andrew Santiago of Magic 89.9 radio station where Bautista is under contract.“There is a need to let the world know and those that employ Mr. Bautista that he is an extremely corrupt influence to the youth and his abusive behavior should not be tolerated," the council pointed out.Bautista humbly respected the city council’s decision, responding on Twitter with this statement.I respect the decision of the Davao officials, and I will abide by it.— Ramon Bautista (@ramonbautista) August 19, 2014Persona non grata, which is Latin for “unwelcome person,” bars a person from entering a city or country. However, the resolution does not have penalties or carry criminal charges. Bautista joins Party-list Representatives Pastor Alcover and Retired General Jovito Palparan in the persona non grata list of the city.
