Angie Lau named lead anchor for Bloomberg TV Asia

Following Susan Li’s jump to CNBC International last year, Bloomberg Television has named Angie Lau lead anchor for its morning business programme First Up.Formerly known as First Up with Susan Li, the programme will be re-launched as First Up with Angie Lau from February.Born in Hong Kong, Lau is a multi-award winning journalist with over 16 years of reporting experience. She joins established anchor Rishaad Salamat as well as Bloomberg Television’s roster of personalities including Zeb Eckert, Mia Saini, John Dawson and David Ingles in Hong Kong, Stephen Engle in Beijing and Haslinda Amin in Singapore.On top of many journalism accolades, Lau is currently Correspondent Governor at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club in Hong Kong.“Angie has the perfect blend of deep roots in Asia, a great personality and strong international journalism experience,” said Paul Yurisich, Head of News and Programming for Bloomberg TV Asia. “She will bring a seasoned reporter's perspective to our First Up viewers as we set the agenda ahead of the trading day and the events shaping business in Asia.”Bloomberg TV is available in over 340 million homes worldwide and over 18 million households in 21 Asia Pacific countries.
