Wavemaker names Toby Jenner new global CEO

Wavemaker has appointed Toby Jenner (pictured) as the new global CEO after a six-month search. Jenner will head a team of 8,600 employees responsible for the management of Wavemaker's leading clients from over 90 countries who make up US$13 billion of the company's billings. He succeeds Tim Castree who previously held the title as the agency's North American CEO.

Prior to his current position, Jenner held the MediaCom roles of global chief business development and marketing officer, Asia Pacific COO, and CEO of Australasia. He originally joined GroupM as managing director of MEC in the UK. Jenner was originally to fill the position of managing director of MEC, Wavemaker's merger media agency, in the UK upon joining GroupM. With the appointment, Jenner will be transitioning into his newly appointed role in Wavemaker in September.

Jenner holds a reputation for excellent client work, taking advantage of new business opportunities such as recently acquiring international accounts in Adidas and Mars, and having been awarded for his work on a regional and global scale.

The agency is confident that Jenner will provide Wavemaker with valuable support in its global media endeavors and development in business. GroupM's global chief executive, Kelly Clark said, “Jenner is passionate about helping our clients win and is a fierce competitor for them, as well as for our business. He inspires our people to consistently exceed expectations and supports them in their own career development. He will be a strong leader with the very talented team at Wavemaker.”

Jenner is focused on taking the agency to an even greater success and mending certain drawbacks in the company's current system.
