Swiss luxury watchmaker Breitling has opened a new concept boutique store at Hong Kong’s K11 Musea mall located in Tsim Sha Tsui. The 620 square-foot site has been described in rather wordy terms as “a contemporary urban interpretation of a chic industrial loft in a modern retro style.” Its hipster millennial-grabbing design has been inspired by a mid-twentieth-century industrial building with throwback elements such as a neon Breitling logo in a 1940s to 1950s reminiscent style and bespoke furniture. It’s hoped that the eclectic style that incorporates elements of air, sea, and land travel will provide a trendy welcome to the city’s watch fans. In addition, the boutique also features a VIP area for more personal and discrete customer service. Breitling CEO Georges Kern commented on the launch saying, “Opening our boutique in the K11 MUSEA underscores the importance of the markets in Hong Kong for our brand. Our new approach blends contemporary design with inspiration from our rich heritage and longstanding ties to aviation. We think it is perfect to choose here to launch our new concept store since K11 MUSEA is built upon a rich cultural history in the city; their innovative vision and sophistication for exclusivity and bespoke products which coincides with the values of our brand.”To mark the occasion and draw discerning horologists, Breitling has also made its Superocean Heritage Ocean Conservancy Limited Edition watch exclusively available at the K11 Musea store.
