McDonald's MY hires Muhamad Zaid Hasman as new digital director

McDonald's Malaysia has appointed Muhamad Zaid Hasman as its new director of digital.  Hasman, who will assume his new role on 2nd January 2018, will report to Melati Abdul Hai, CMO of leading marketing, corporate communications, and consumer and business insights at McDonald's Malaysia.He is currently the head of digital at Domino’s Pizza for Malaysia and Singapore, a company that he has been engaged with since April 2011.His responsibilities at Domino’s Pizza includes helping to develop social media and growth strategies across various consumer touchpoints and he also worked collaboratively with the company's stakeholders. He was also tasked to develop to align, promote and execute against growth strategies to grow the online business from acquisition, conversion to retention activities. He also spearheaded its IoT development, and designed the overall e-commerce solution and growth of new and existing business of multi-channel customers.McDonald’s Malaysia said earlier in July it will fork out RM1.4 billion on its latest expansion plan to increase to 450 outlets nationwide by 2025. The local fast-food chain currently has 262 restaurants nationwide.Azmir Jaafar, managing director and operating partner of McDonald’s Malaysia said it will aggressively pursue the expansion plan with this multi-billion investment over 10 years. This serves as a proof of its confidence in the future of Malaysia, he told Bernama after the launch of its joint marketing partnership with F&N Beverages Marketing.
