Isentia promotes Russ Horell to chief commercial officer

Isentia has promoted country manager for New Zealand and Queensland, Russ Horell (pictured) as the chief commercial officer. He?replaces Sean Smith, who will leave Isentia at the end of 2019. To ensure a smooth handover, Horell will commence in his new role on 25 November.

Horell has spent nine years in various roles at Isentia, according to his LinkedIn. During his tenure, the company said he has demonstrated "outstanding" leadership capabilities as well as strong sales results. He also brings with him a "deep understanding" of the media intelligence industry, including the complex needs of clients across the government, enterprise and agency sectors.

Isentia?s CEO Ed Harrison said Horell has built a "high performing, extremely engaged team" in New Zealand in his time as the country manager, delivering in terms of customer service as well as client acquisition and retention. "The appointment highlights the depth of our management team and I know Russ will play an integral role as we continue to implement our transformation strategy," he added.

Meanwhile, Horell said: ?My experience in delivering value to clients across two countries as well as the numerous positions I have held within sales and account management, mean that I am well equipped to deliver the direction that our teams need and the standards our clients expect.

In October, Isentia saw the resignations of Smith and?Isentia?s chief insights officer, Khali Sakkas.?Smith, who spent 18 years in the company, will be taking up a CEO position in another?undisclosed company. Sakkas, who has been with Isentia for the past 16 years, is planning to take a career break before exploring other options.
