Hill+Knowlton Strategies (H+K) has strengthened its senior team with the appointments of Yiting Foo (pictured extreme left), Sherawaye Hagger (pictured second from right) and Selena Sheikh (pictured second from left) as practice directors to the Singapore team. In addition, Jocelyn Ko (pictured extreme right) has joined as associate director to lead B2B and strategic communications.

Prior to joining H+K, Foo spent time in Myanmar where she set up and led the corporate communications team for infrastructure giant, Asia World Company. She drove the work around the Yangon International Airport as well as sustainability and CSR for the Asia World Foundation. With over 18 years’ experience from Edelman and investor relations agencies, Foo will lead the corporate and financial practice and is set to take on the full spectrum of communications in these sectors.

Hagger, who brings 15 years’ experience, has joined from London where she led the luxury and prestige offering for FleishmanHillard. She will head up the consumer division working on WPP integrated offerings. With close to 20 years’ experience with multinationals and in global agencies, Sheikh specialises in B2B and emerging technology as well as science. She will lead the technology team.

Meanwhile, Ko brings with her nine years of experience from a mix of WPP and boutique agencies. She will support the technology team as well as drive H+K’s B2B offering. Ko will lend her strategic communications expertise across the practices.

Matthew Briant (pictured standing), H+K Singapore’s managing director said: “I am delighted to hire these four talented individuals into senior positions. 2020 is an important year for our agency. We have plans to set the benchmark in Singapore for rewarding our people, placing culture at the heart of our agency and letting our work speak for us."

All four new hires will report directly to Briant, who recently took on his role in September 2019. Upon joining H+K, Briant created a specialist team to manage creative, social and design, with plans to expand into CSR/purpose in 2020. His appointment comes after H+K merged with LUMOS PR in Malaysia to form Hill+Knowlton LUMOS, with the integrated entity being led by Justin Then, founder and managing director of LUMOS PR. Then was previously the managing director of H+K Malaysia from 2013 to 2017. The merger is expected to strengthen H+K’s presence and capabilities in Malaysia, allowing the agency to better service the growing number of multinationals establishing ASEAN hub offices in the country.
