Now TV launches new program platform

Hong Kong - Pay TV giant now TV has entered into an agreement with Disney-ABC International Asia Pacific to broadcast US TV series via a new service, TV Series.

The application on now TV formats programming in high definition (HD) and standard definition (SD) qualities. Through the now Select video-on-demand option, now TV is putting the remote on subscribers' hands, allowing them to catch up their favorite shows at anytime.

Shows like Sisters and Brothers, Grey's Anatomy and Ugly Betty will be available in HD format via the new platform.

The entertainment brand Disney-ABC in July partnered with TVB to broadcast its content through TVB.com's CatchUp TV online service.

Rob Gilby, senior VP and MD for Disney-ABC International Television, said the partnership with PCCW's IPTV plaform reflects its content expansion across multiple platforms.

Janice Lee, PCCW's TV & New Media executive VP, said it is the first time that viewers are able to view TV programs on demand in HD format.
