Euro secures Carlsberg's brands and footie

Malaysia – Carlsberg has confirmed the appointment of Euro RSCG as its new creative agency, relieving incumbent Naga DDB of the account.

On Nov 17, marketing-interactive.com reported the win after a pitch in June between the two agencies.

Tasked with overall brand management and integrated communications, Euro now has the Carlsberg Green Label, Carlsberg Gold, Carlsberg Special Brew and Jacobsen brands under its wing.

In addition, Carlsberg’s football-related activities will also fall under its purview.

Matthe Fanshawe, chief executive officer, Euro RSCG Singapore and Malaysia said the agency’s relationship with Carlsberg is not new as they have worked on several projects before.

“We are honoured to be selected as Carlsberg’s partner,” Fanshawe added.

Carlsberg’s Ole S Nielsen, general manager, marketing said Euro RSCG demonstrated great creativity in developing the new Carlsberg campaign.

“It has thorough understanding of the beer consumers and the category.

“We also extend our appreciation to the Naga DDB team for their good work, close cooperation, support and services provided when they were partners with Carlsberg Malaysia,” Nielsen added.
