POSB has a punt on sports sponsorship
Singapore - Singapore's largest local bank POSB has remained optimistic during the current economic climate, committing itself to a multi-million dollar naming rights sponsorship of the POSB Everyday Champions Award for the next three years.
The sponsorship value for the first year is S$1.4 million, and marks the bank's debut into the sport sponsorship arena. A part of the DBS Group, POSB has more than 3.5 million customers.
"The POSB Everyday Champions Award is an ideal platform for us as we possess that common touch, that connection with the everyday person, from children to senior citizens. We are honoured to partner the Singapore Sports Council in recognising and celebrating the unsung heroes among us," Richard Stanley, DBS Group CEO, said.
The POSB Everyday Champions Award aims to recognize everyday individuals and organizations for inspiring others to enjoy sports and grow through sports. Singapore Sports Council CEO, Oon Jin Teik added that "such sponsorship provides local organisations with a platform to market and brand themselves as well as enable them to play an active role in community bonding".
"We are pleased that more local organisations like POSB see the long-term strategic value that sports sponsorship can bring to their brands and their corporate citizenship initiatives," he said.
In other news, The Advocate Group has been appointed to handle publicity management for the Award.
