Local Kancil jury named, let the debate begin
Malaysia - The local jury for the Kancil Awards Festival 2008 has been announced and it's a who's who of Malaysia's most awarded agencies.
Head judge Ronald Ng said: “The line-up was based on a simple process and was based on the agencies' performances at six international awards - AdFest, Media Spikes, Cannes, Clio, One Show and D&AD."
Agencies with the most points were invited to participate.
“However, two agencies are unable to be part of the line-up due to time conflicts,” Ng added.
The panel consists of creative heads from Saatchi & Saatchi Worldwide (Adrian Miller), Dentsu, Young & Rubicam (Rahul Mathew), BBDO (Mun Tuck Wai), Publicis (Andy Soong) and Naga DDB’s Ted Lim.
Meanwhile, Ng said, the digital category judging for the awards will take place starting Monday (Oct 20).
On the number of entries, the category had attracted close to 120 entries.
“The online judging process will take place over the course of the next two weeks.
“The judging process for the broadcast category will be held in Bangkok on Nov 7 and will involve some of the top production people of Thailand,” he added.
The boardroom of Macomm Management Services – secretariat to the Kancil Awards’ organiser Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As) – was this morning packed to the brim with entries ready to be judged.
The Kancil Awards Festival which turns 30 this year, is stretched throughout November with events and programmes featuring international game-changing gurus in the industry as speakers for the Speaker Series and the Kyoorius Designyatra seminar, and jury members.
