Malaysia – Public relations shop GO Communications has banked six new retainer clients in the past few weeks and said public relations is critical in a downturn climate.

Newly stabled clients include Taylor’s Education Group encompassing the Australian International School Malaysia, Garden International School, SriGarden Kuala Lumpur and Nexus World School, hearing aid company Clarisound, online security solutions provider Extol, Western Digital, Quote & Print and Slimming Sanctuary.

Peter de Kretser, chief operating officer said the wins are significant for the company as they already have established brand names and clean track records.

“In the current tough economic conditions, public relations or communications is the finest art form of reaching the consumer and continuing to build a brand and is the only way to build a ‘trust’ with the consumer and gain their confidence,” he added.

de Kretser is the son of  Michael de Kretser – a public relations veteran who founded MDK and is now the chief executive officer of GO Communications.
