Singapore - IPRS's biennial PRISM Awards saw over 100 entries this year compared to 88 two years ago, and introduces new regional awards such as the Outstanding Corporate Reputation Campaign (International).
Notable individual awards that were given out to PR practitioners include, The Outstanding PR Champion of the Year, presented to Khoo Teng Chye, CEO of PUB, which recognises individuals that leverage on PR for their organisation's corporate reputation; the Lifetime Achievement Award was given to CapitaLand Limited's Basskaran Nair, SVP of corporate communications; while Young PR Professional of the Year 2008 was presented to Lee Ling Ling, associate consultant at Bang PR.
Two new regional awards also made their debut - the Outstanding Corporate Reputation Campaign (International) award was won by CapitaLand Limited for ‘Building for tomorrow' and the Outstanding Corporate Reputation Campaign (APAC) won by Yahoo SEA for ‘Pinoy Connect' (Excellence Award) and Weber Shandwick Worldwide (Singapore) for ‘Top 50 Cities of the New Global Economy' (Merit Award).
