Singapore - Millennium & Copthorne Hotels (M&C) has appointed Mediaedge:cia International Worldwide Client Services & Solutions ( MEC WCSS) as its new lead global communications channel partner for its global portfolio, in an announcement following the recent news of Crush Advertising scooping the Hotels’ creative global business (reported in Marketing Weekly, August 10). “M&C challenged us to offer more creative and innovative solutions and we are glad to be selected based on our proven track record across travel and luxury brands,” said Tess Caven, Managing Partner, MEC WCSS, in a statement. “We are delighted to welcome M&C onto our prestigious client roster alongside Singapore Airlines, DaimlerChrysler, DHL, Chanel, Caltex/Chevron, Sony Ericsson and Citibank.” MEC WCSS’ role, managed globally out of Singapore, comprises strategic consultancy involving media-neutral channel planning and implementation via MEC’s proprietary tool Navigator. After establishing the marketing communications strategy framework and marketing platforms, MEC will be lead-managing M&C’s international strategic media & communications channel planning, buying and media execution. “To help achieve our strategic positioning goals, we concluded that MEC has the balance of expertise to work with us and develop integrated marketing communications platforms to reach our desired target audience across the world, cost effectively,” said Gerry Oh, Senior VP for Global Sales & Marketing at M&C. “Having worked with and seen what MEC has delivered before, I am glad they have accepted our challenge with zest.”
