Astro and Eurosport re-sign
- Astro signs new contract with Eurosport Asia Pacific
- New five year deal for both Eurosport and Eurosportnews channels
- Eurosport first launched on Astro in May 2007
Malaysia – Astro has signed a new five year contract with Eurosport Asia Pacific to continue the broadcast of both Eurosport and Eurosportnews on its pay TV platform.
The Eurosport channel first launched on the Astro platform back in May 2007 and is currently available to Astro's sports subscribers.
"We are encouraged with the growing support from viewers in Malaysia through the Astro platform. This deal allows us to continue our efforts in expanding our reach to more sports fans, and bringing them Live coverage of a large variety of sports that are at their highest level of competition,"Arjan Hoekstra, MD of Eurosport Asia-Pacific, said.
Among the major sporting events on Eurosport include the WTA Tour and Championships, Cycling Tour de France, Basketball Euro Cup, America’s Cup Sailing, and the FIA World Touring Car Championships.
Eurosport and Eurosportnews are currently available across Asia-Pacific in markets such as Malaysia, Australia, Hong Kong, China, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam.
