Singapore - DDB Singapore and OMD were the big agency winners at this year's Advertising Hall of Fame Awards, walking away with the ‘Advertising Agency of the Year' and ‘Media Agency of the Year' awards respectively.
MCYS won the ‘Advertiser of the Year' award for ‘Beautifully Imperfect', while the same campaign created by Leo Burnett also won the ‘Most Effective Media Campaign of the Year' award.
In other campaign award categories, Zuji and Kinetic Interactive claimed the ‘Campaign of the Year' award for "World on Sale - Fresh Deals Emporium". Nokia and Mediacom won the ‘Magazine Campaign of the Year' award for ‘Nokia comes with Music, as well as the ‘Best International Media Plan of the Year' for the Nokia EPL sponsorship.
DDB and pfingo won the ‘Online Campaign of the Year' award for, OCBC and Y&R took home the ‘Cable TV Campaign of the Year' award, while NTUC Income and BBH clinched the ‘Press Campaign of the Year' award.
David Tang, CEO and president, DDB Singapore said, "DDB is honoured and thrilled to be named Advertising Agency of the Year. This has been a year where we have been challenged to be innovative, inventive and face up to the new market realities.
"Advertising as we knew it is over. A new drive for effective ideas - online, on social media, in CRM - is happening. What this award signifies is we're getting more adventurous, but we still believe in being the same talented and nice guys."
In the individual award categories, the ‘Advertising Professional of the Year' award went to Richard Tan, director of corporate communications at MCYS.
Across 19 categories, the Singapore Advertising Hall of Fame Awards this year attracted a total of 115 entries, all against a backdrop of challenged advertising budgets and economic pressures.
