- Media owners will play important role in campaign
Malaysia - The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) is looking for media owners and corporate sponsors for its "Tune in to Me" campaign which celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC).
The campaign intends to honour Article 12 of the CRC which defends children's rights to be heard by giving children and the young a channel to express themselves via TV, radio, online or in print.
Sponsorship of the campaign ranges from air-time and advertising space to "Tune in to Me" collateral.
Media owners and corporate sponsors involved in the project will come together on 20 November to fulfill the campaign objective.
UNICEF has partnered with Leo Burnett and Arc Worldwide to help promote this campaign - a press launch for "Tune in to Me" has been set for 9 November.
"We want to involve media owners and corporate sponsors not just to bring the campaign to life but more importantly to highlight that children's well-being should not be left to the responsibility of the government," Youssouf Oomar, UNICEF representative to Malaysia, said
"Participating in this campaign will allow parents, professionals and communities at all levels to reach out and at the same time realise their unique roles when it comes to the protection of children," Oomar said.
