Disneyland opens creative tender

Hong Kong - With Hong Kong Disneyland approaching its 5th anniversary, the theme park has invited advertising agencies in Hong Kong to send in their creative credentials.

A Hong Kong Disneyland Resort spokesperson said it was good timing to review its marketing communication strategies, with the last review held four years ago when Disney opened its doors.

The spokesperson added that the appointed agency will be tasked to enhance Hong Kong Disneyland's position as one of the "most attractive destinations for tourists".

Ogilvy & Mather has been the incumbent agency for Disneyland, which rolled out its latest TV commercial early last month as part of a campaign to attract locals to its summer bash. 

In May this year, Hong Kong Disneyland has dropped Ogilvy PR and appointed Burson-Marsteller as its PR agency to provide consumer PR services for its local business.

In March 2008, Disneyland shifted its media planning and buying duties to MindShare Hong Kong covering both local and international markets from four-year incumbent OMD.
