Singapore - Guinness is tapping into the power of social media as part of its 250th anniversary celebrations, launching ‘The Search for Singapore's Most Remarkable Arthur' with Facebook at the forefront of the campaign.
The Search is designed to find Singapore's answer to Arthur Guinness, with participants assessed on the merits of their passion, enterprise and commitment to community.
While there will be brand ambassadors and mascots distributing information about the search at popular outlets over the next few weekends, recruitment of Arthurs is driven digitally. An SMS platform has been set up from which consumers can submit their details though the recruitment is driven mainly via Facebook.
Guinness lovers can either become a fan of the brand here or become a friend of Arthur Guinness here. The campaign in entirely PR driven and is being handled by Grayling in Singapore.
All Arthurs will be invited to join the search for Singapore's Most Remarkable Arthur group, which will be used to distribute updates and information to participants. They can request to join the group by visiting here.
There are various other celebratory activities happening in Singapore and across the region, all part of the 250th anniversary for the iconic beer.
The final of the search will take place at the end of the August, with the ultimate winner receiving a five day trip to Arthur's home, in Dublin, Ireland, while runners-up will receive a pair of tickets to the Asian Arthur Guinness Day celebrations (25 September), which will include a performance by The Black Eyed Peas.
