Regional - Following a slew of staff departures, GroupM has pooled in close to 10 members from its four agencies in the region to form a new digital council.
The move, GroupM CEO Mark Patterson said, is an attempt to bring the best minds in the group together to enhance its offering in the digital space.
"This group of like-minded talent always existed, Ruth's departure catalysed the whole process and it's now a more structured group," he said.
Ruth Stubbs, former GroupM CEO of Interaction, left the agency in April this year to join Mediabrands. Other recent departures include James Miner, former head of creative services at GroupM, who moved to ESS, and regional technology director Emmanuel Allix, who moved to Pudding Media.
GroupM's new council boasts of experts in the digital arena including social networking, search, mobile marketing and digital trading, and aims to strengthen the business across the region.
Some of the members include: GroupM Search Asia Pacic CEO Robbie Hills and MD Rosemary Lising, who are responsible for Search, Mediaedge:cia head of interaction for Asia Pacific Ben Poole, who is in charge of Gold Standard implementation, MediaCom's Wendy France, in charge of tools and technologies, and Mindshare's Brian Stoller who heads mobile marketing.
