Disney rejigs Asia distribution team
Asia - Disney-ABC International TV Asia Pacific has integrated its distribution structure headed by Rob Gilby, senior VP and MD, and will include a newly-created channel distribution and program distribution teams.
Disney Channel and Disney-ABC International Television will operate under a single multi-platform distribution business aimed at aggressively expanding its presence worldwide.

In China and Korea, the in-market sales teams will be aligned with overall Walt Disney company country strategies.
Key positions have also been created with Raju Venkataraman appointed as VP, channel distribution, Greg Johnson as VP, program distribution, Shinbong Kong as executive director, media distribution for Korea and Dai Hua as VP, media distribution for Greater China and all to report directly to Gilby.
Dai will also report into Stanley Cheung, MD for the Walt Disney Company, Greater China. He is responsible for developing strategies that create value for Disney in Greater China and key business partners to foster relationships across both program and channel distribution.
Additionally, he is responsible for identifying and developing rapid distribution growth in these key territories, overseeing all deals for their respective markets and working closely with other divisions of Disney to support the overall company growth.
In his new position, Venkataraman will be in charge of distribution oversight of all channels and branded environments in the DAIT portfolio, including Disney Channel, Playhouse Disney, Disney XD, Hungama and Disney Channel's branded on-demand services and mobile loop services.
Johson will be based in Hong Kong and he will work with Walt Disney Studio, ABC Entertainment and Disney Channel Worldwide teams to oversee program distribution teams in Beijing, Seoul, Mumbai, Sydney and Hong Kong.
Kang will have similar responsibilities as Dai covering the Korea market. He will also identify and develop rapid distribution growth, particularly in the areas of digital media, and will work closely with other divisions of Disney to support the overall company growth.
