- Kuala Lumpur selected for Guinness' Arthur's Day campaign
- Other cities include Dublin, New York, Lagos, and Yaounde
Malaysia - Guinness has selected Kuala Lumpur as the sole Asian location, and one of five cities, to host the brand's global celebration of founder Arthur Guinness.
The occasion, dubbed Arthur's Day, is part of Guinness' 250th anniversary initiatives.
In April, Jenner said GAB would spend RM10 million on marketing this year to celebrate the landmark anniversary of the Guinness brand with funds going to advertising, promotions, and events. Malaysia is among the brand's top ten markets.
In the lead up to Arthur's Day, Guinness is launching a global consumer promotion in July 2009. Arthur's Day will feature a series of global events which will take place in September in Kuala Lumpur, Dublin, New York, Lagos, and Yaounde.
The highlight of the celebration will see artists and consumers throughout the five cities raise a Guinness and simultanouesly toast the brand's founder. The global toast will be led by celebrities including Sir Bob Geldof, Guy Ritchie, Carson Daly, Jerry Hall, Sophie Dahl.
