MTV offers up free music streaming in Japan
Japan - MTV Networks Japan has launched a free streaming service in partnership with major music labels including Universal and Warner Music.
MTV Japan will monetise the new service via advertising and the introduction of a video-on-demand service ads another tool to its existing suite of online advertising products, said Paul Greenberg, vice president & general manager of Digital Media at MTV Japan.
"This new functionality is an integral part of our evolution towards seamless and rich cross-platform experience of the MTV brand in Japan," he added.
As a special feature, MTVNJ will exclusively premiere Green Day's video "Know Your Enemy" today (24 April) via www.mtvjapan.com/video.
This exclusive premiere is part of the first global cross-channel video premiere for MTV and its sister network VH1.
