NCPG appoints Bates, MediaCom

- Bates' remit also include PR
Singapore - The National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) has appointed Bates 141 Singapore and MediaCom as creative and media agencies for its 2009 integrated communications campaign.
The appointment comes after a pitch was callled in October, the second and the final round of which saw Bates 141 battle it out with two other agencies namely, incumbent Y&R and Up BrandBuzz.
Bates 141 Singapore's remit for the campaign will extend beyond above-the-line components to include community and grassroots outreach, digital engagement and public relations, while media planning and buying will be handled by Mediacom.
"With the Integrated Resorts soon to launch in Singapore, we are delighted to be supporting this important cause. More than just awareness-driving, we have devised a big interaction idea aimed at changing the behaviour, by encouraging those affected to seek help," Edward Pank, general manager for Bates 141, said.
NCPG is an independent council appointed in August 2005 as part of Singapore's national framework to address problem gambling. The council provides advice and feedback to the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports on issues relating to problem gambling.
