Malaysia - The Leo Burnett birthed Earth Hour phenomena, for client WWF which started in Sydney Australia two years ago, has captured the hearts and minds of Malaysians according to research shop Pulse Group.

The blanket campaign for the event which this year asks citizens of the world to vote for the planet using their light switch, but turning it off for one hour tomorrow night at 8.30pm.

Of those Malaysians polled 89 per cent of households said they would be participating in the great switch off.

Pulse's Bob Chua said Malaysians were showing an eagerness to play a part in helping to address environmental problems.

While there has been intense and emotionally charged campaign about the whole Earth Hour movement encouraging Malaysians to join in, Advertising + Marketing understands this year there will also be a strong post event push after the weekend.
