A + M Malaysia bolsters team
The Marketing Magazine Group today announces a beefing up of its editorial team in Malaysia with the appointment of Marcus Chhan as overall editor of the group's new magazine Advertising + Marketing Malaysia.
Chhan will work closely with A+M newsletter editor and news editor Llew-Ann Phang and the rest of the editorial team to build the title both on and offline. One of the first innovations of the team will be to take the Advertising + Marketing newsletter daily in line with the Singapore and Hong Kong editions.
Chhan moves on to A+M from Marketing Singapore where he holds the title of deputy editor and was previously online editor for the whole group.
Editorial director of Lighthouse Independent Media, which owns the Marketing Magazine group, Tony Kelly said the new structure and addition of the experienced Chhan puts Advertising + Marketing Malaysia in a strong position to achieve its market leadership goals at speed.
"Marcus brings many years experience with the Marketing Magazine brand to Malaysia with him and is heavily involved with quality control across the group. He has also helped steer and implement innovation in online, the fastest growing part of our business," Kelly says.
"His deep industry knowledge will compliment the excellent news gathering skills and contacts of Llew-Ann and they will be a formidable senior reporting team".
Kelly says the publisher had already had overwhelming response to the preview edition of Advertising + Marketing Malaysia printed in December and a warm welcome from Malaysia in general.
"We are very committed to Malaysia as part of our aggressive APAC growth strategy and, despite the gloomy financial outlook for the rest of the year, we have no intention of halting our growth plans."
"To achieve these plans we will be announcing more new hires shortly".
