Edipresse Asia makes Indian move
Hong Kong - Luxury media group Edipresse Asia has announced its move into India under a joint venture with the entrepreneurial chairman of Mediascope, Marzban Patel.
The JV, Edipresse India, plans to roll out its first publication this year, but the exact titles were not announced. Late last year, Edipresse Asia chief Barry Goodridge said luxury watch magazine Revolution would be one of its titles to expand around the region.
Edipresse Asia, publisher of titles including Tatler, Home Journal and Hong Kong Business, has offices in China, Macau, Taiwan, Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia and Thailand, with licensed products in Indonesia and Korea.
In a statement Goodridge said the latest move represents the next step in Edipresse Asia's strategy to expand its position in the luxury media segment in Asia.
"Having a presence in India is a critical part of our core objective of growing our business in Asia," he said.
"Through the joint venture with Marzban Patel, we have a unique opportunity to become a powerful and important player in high-end lifestyle publishing."
