Revolution International gives us The Rake
The Rake is published by Revolution International and its target audience (80% male) is aged 35 and above and with an average annual income of S$350,000. The magazine states this is the perfect time to launch such a magazine with the building resurgence of classic men's elegance - a trend which is not being catered for by the current men's magazines on the market.
According to the Rake Manifesto, a document the publisher is circulating amongst media agencies, advertising rates start at S$8,500 for a full-page, S$14,500 for a double-page spread and up to S$40,000 for the outside gate fold.
It also claims to have a circulation of 20,000 in Singapore with its distribution including all major bookstores, major watch and fashion retailers, major airline lounges, selected F & B outlets, country clubs and gyms as well as through subscription.
The cover price is S$10 and the first issue included a limited run of 500 copies.
"We did a few different printing processes and individually hand numbered those which were distributed to VIPs. It was basically in keeping with our approach which is very much focused on the limited edition, the handmade and the bespoke so it tied in well with that," Christian Barker, editor for The Rake, said.
