ATV management takes dramatic turn
Hong Kong - Ricky Wong (pictured) said he has not quit has post as ATV chief executive, despite the company's executive team saying otherwise.
In a brief statement last night, newly appointed ATV executive chairman Linus Cheung said he "regrettably accepted the resignation of Mr Ricky Wong" as CEO of ATV.
However in a statement Wong, who has held the CEO post for 12 days, said he had neither received or tendered his resignation to ATV's board of directors.
The news erupted after an investigation was announced into the winners of ATV's Miss Asia pageant. But Cheung said there was no connection between the two.
"The resignation of Wong is in no way connected to the incident of Miss Asia contest," he said.
An ATV executive said it unlikely that the issue would be resolved today (16 December).
