Regional - Singaporean PR and marketing outfit Alchemy Consultancy has picked up three new clients and opened an office in Shanghai.

Alchemy Consultancy has added beauty brand Skin Inc, crystal glass brand Zwiesel Kristallglas and restaurant Boomarang to its client list which already includes Moet Hennessy Diageo Singapore and F&B.

Skin Inc, which launched in December 2007, is a skin supplement bar company that operates three stores in Singapore. Alchemy will look after the portfolio of three brands of Zwiesel Kristallglas - Zwiesel 1872, Schott Zwiesel, Jenaer Glas - and handle PR for the newly launched Australian restaurant Boomarang, which is located at The Quayside.

Alchemy, which was founded in January this year, has also recently opened an office in Shanghai with two partners.

"It's really small. [But] there's great potential for Shanghai," Alchemy founder Marie Choo said.

Choo, a former head of marketing for FJ Benjamin, started the agency nearly a year ago with Zouk marketer Esther Tan. Choo is now the sole owner after Tan left the company in July. Alchemy's Singapore office now has five staff.

"Business is not too bad. As in times of economic slow downturn, more businesses realise and appreciate the importance of PR," Choo said.
